A couple weekends ago I got a parcel containing the latest additions to my little vintage Japanese colouring book collection! I think vintage nurie, make for charming retro wall art and I have most of mine framed for display.

Some of these are from Kawaii Shop Japan and a couple are from Yahoo Japan Auctions.

In the parcel I also received some lovely old paper dolls…

My favourite is the lady set, with her colourful kimono. I will have that one hanging on my wall once I get another frame!

I do have some extras of these paper dolls, and a few of the colouring books (shown below). My sister has a vintage shop on Etsy so I’ve given them to her to put up for sale. Visit her shop here if you’re interested!
It has been a very long time since I last released a new variety of Fairy Pod and so I have decided to close up the Fairy Pod Greenhouse shop within the next couple of weeks. If you would still like to ‘grow’ your own little fairy before they’re gone for good, please follow the links on the left to purchase one of the regular or bakery edition seeds soon. The official closing date is April 22nd

Thanks to everyone who has collected my little fairies over the past few years. It was great fun to come up with new ones every month and release them to the world!

The Greenhouse is now closed!

One of my favourite artists is Macoto Takahashi. He’s famous for his pretty illustrations of girls with big sparkly eyes, explosions of flowers and fairy tale settings. These are a few goodies featuring his artwork that I’ve gotten in the last few months:

A couple of postcards from kawaiishopjapan.com. These are actually from a postcard book, but KSJ sells them individually which is nice.
A vintage set of pencils with one of Macoto’s gals on the box. I think it’s from the 1970s. The pencils themselves are sadly only decorated with a flower pattern.

A lovely book called something like Girl Romance ~Macoto Takahashi’s World which my sister gave me for Christmas. It’s a collection of Macoto’s artwork from the 1950s to 2000s. This joins my other Macoto book Macoto’s Princesses which is a collection of fairy tale princess-themed art. Here are a couple snapshots of the inside of the book –
